About Eye Infections

Common eye infections include stye, blepharitis, and conjunctivitis, commonly known as pink eye. Some cases are mild and require only conservative management, whereas others require further treatment with antibiotics.

Getting help

What we can do
  • Determine if your condition is most likely caused by a virus, bacteria or allergies and treat accordingly
  • Order investigations if we suspect your eye issues may be caused by an underlying illness
  • Refer you to an ophthalmologist if clinically indicated
We may ask you to
  • Take a picture of your eyes or hop on to video chat
  • Take your temperature
What we cannot do
  • Assess any sudden vision loss or traumatic injury to your eye
