About Acid Reflux

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), more commonly known as heartburn or acid reflux, is a common condition that occurs when stomach contents goes into your esophagus. There are several reasons why this can happen and several modifications that can improve your symptoms.

What we can do
  • Assess your symptoms to see if they are due to GERD
  • Discuss lifestyle modifications to reduce recurrence
  • Suggest over the counter treatments or prescription medications that can help manage your symptoms
  • Advise you when to seek immediate medical attention
We may ask you to
  • Keep a food journal to identify your triggers
What we cannot do
  • If you have a complex medical history or features that suggest another cause, we may ask that you be seen in person for an assessment
